Dear Family,

We are grateful that in spite of the tragedies that have occurred over the past month, we have been very blessed.  We find that our lives have changed somewhat from the experience.  We’ve watched the news more frequently, and have been attentive to the addresses from President Bush to the nation.  We are even more grateful for a prophet, especially one who is so comfortable and capable at speaking to the public over television in interviews, and who communicates the will of God so freely to us.  Jim and I have found ourselves doing more for those suffering around us, since we feel so helpless at helping the needs of those in New York and other parts of the country.  We are mindful of putting our lives in order and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, so that our country will be protected from the threat of destruction through disobedience.  We are sober about the fragile nature of our earthly existence.  We never know when our time will come to leave this mortal life, nor can we take for granted all of the material comforts we have and freedom to get around without being carefully scanned.  It’s been an opportunity to share with neighbors something we have in common—a love for our country.  We pray that we will be prepared for whatever will come our way over the next while.  We are grateful to know that our loved ones are together and safe.

Dan finishes his finals for his first semester tomorrow!  He is happy with his school opportunities.  He got a new job at Atlanta Bread Company—a good soup and sandwich restaurant.  He bought our Honda and has enjoyed his freedom to get around A LOT!

Stephen has started wrestling workouts the past few weeks.  He is still in the middle of 112 and 119.  He has to land just below one of those to compete well!  He has a lot of homework, but is doing real well in school.  His sophomore year is harder, but he’s doing better somehow!

Jim is finally back to racquetball after not playing because of a bum shoulder and back problem.  He is training with the Boy Scouts so has 2 scout meetings a week, one with his troop, and one with the council.  He likes the training.

I am looking forward to see my three kids in Utah this weekend!  Ben and Christy will be going also to add to the excitement.  Dan and Stephen opted to stay home with a young couple in our ward who will be staying at our house.

We love you all so much and find great joy in our memories of being with you all.  We pray for the Lord’s watch care to be over all of you all the time.  We are SO proud of Kyle and Brian for being so willing to sacrifice 2 years in the greatest cause on the earth today!  Best wishes to you all—the Jett’s
