Hey everybody!
We were excited to go to Joe and Cathy's ward to see Gracie blessed, and
then to celebrate Gracie and Joe's birthdays!! The only candles Cathy
could come up with were a 5 and a 9 so Joe got to pick to be 59 or 95! He
chose 95 so he could get more sympathy--that was the joke anyway!
:o) Joe
did a real nice job on the blessing. Gracie is a doll. Jim, Stephen
and I
all enjoyed holding her. We couldn't talk Dan into it though. He
felt
like she was too fragile. Tyler is totally comfortable carrying her
around
though!! We are happy to have their family close by to us. The
times we
get together are precious to us.
School and seminary are going well. Dan really thinks his high school is
ideal--it sure seems to be for him! He is head over heels in love.
The
young lady's name is Bre (short for Breana). After going out with her he
comes in singing and is so happy. We can't help but be happy for him!
Stephen has started conditioning for wrestling. It's a dilemma that he
wants to wrestle 112 again, but weighs close to 119 weight. He wants to
gain muscle, but lose weight which is contrary! When he works so hard,
it's difficult to watch him diet. They say that wrestling is the most
demanding sport--I believe it!
Mom asked if funnel cakes are the legacy from family conference! It was
for us!! We had them for FHE and they were pretty good, and then for
seminary on the first Friday. The kids were so excited! They don't
turn
out NEARLY as good as the Hubbard's were though. I wish I could have a
lesson! Perhaps you guys could make a little demonstration with a digital
camera and show us how to get the perfect shapes you were doing!!
We've had 4 days of rain and perhaps more today! I went to the temple on
Wednesday and the officiator prayed that we would have rain. I have a
testimony of prayers in the temple being answered, because I've witnessed
the rain plea being answered twice now in the past 4 months. I got to see
Mom and Dad there by the way, and they both look so happy and angelic as
they are serving.
I'm enjoying my seminary class of 11. I'm amazed that my kids have always
been really well behaved. I'm surely blessed and humbled to be their
teacher and grateful to be teaching Book of Mormon again. Jim made his
first contact on his old radio (that still used tubes) with a man from
North Carolina yesterday! It was fun for me to get to hear their brief
conversation--it sounded almost as good as a telephone reception. He has
been working on that radio for over a year! He will be in charge of the
Kennehoochee Radio Club picnic this Saturday.
That's it from Marietta. We love you all!
